Latest Going On With Ellen DeGeneres

Update: A segment about Ellen's visit to Deal or no Deal aired on her show today and she wore a dress! Here's the video

I can't wait to see the whole episode of Deal or No Deal!

-------------------- Original post from 10-29-2007 ----------------- Ellen will be on of the 26 brief case models on Deal Or No Deal scheduled to air in January of 2008.  "Ellen is a great supporter of the show and we were looking for our first celebrity model. Who better to do that than Ellen?" says Libby Hansen, It's not clear whether or not Ellen will wear a dress (I doubt she will) but she has a agreed to be one of the models and she knows that they wear dresses. Will DeGeneres really wear a dress? "Ellen knows our show and knows the kind of sparkly, sequined dresses our spokesmodels wear, and she's agreed to be [one of them]," Hansen says a bit...

I just got off the phone with some one from the show and they said that Ellen is not taping in NY on Nov. 19 and 20 like she had originally planed but I don't know if she will tape in NY a different day (although that is highly unlikely cause it takes a lot of prep.).

More details to come...

USA Today just posted a article about Portia and in the article Portia talks about adoption

"It depends when you ask us. A few months ago, we were thinking about it. I wouldn't want to say never, but at this point, it's not something I think we're going to do," she says. "But there are times when I think I'd be really selfish to not adopt a child so we'd share our life with somebody, a little child that really needs a home."

"Entertainment Tonight" Claim to have video of Iggy at his new house that will air tomorrow and Tuesday.

"Save your tears, Ellen. Iggy's doing fine without you.

The 5-month-old Affenpinscher puppy mix whose adoption odyssey triggered an on-air meltdown by talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres is thriving in a new home, TV's "Entertainment Tonight" reports tomorrow and Tuesday.

"Iggy's doing famously, very well and in a loving home," Keith Fink, a lawyer for the pet-adoption agency that placed Iggy with DeGeneres and partner Portia de Rossi on Sept. 20 told ET.

After the celebs gave Iggy to a pal, breaking their contract, the agency promptly took back the pup.

"He's with a family that is loving and takes great care of him," Fink said.

Fink wouldn't elaborate on who's caring for Iggy "because of the concern of the threats."

After DeGeneres' weepy TV appeal for Iggy to be returned to her friend and the friend's children, adoption agency Moms and Mutts reportedly got...

The "Writer's Guild of America East" issued a press release saying Ellen wasn't welcome in New York and that they would protest when she filmed in N.Y. and then late Friday evening the "American Federation of Television and Radio Artists" released a statement that supported and defended Ellen.

Ellen's is being criticized for doing her show even though there is a strike but for some reason none of the critics are criticizing Oprah, Live with Regis and Kelly, Tyra, The View and practically all of the show in prime time even though they are all still airing new episodes. The critics also didn't mention that by continuing to tape Ellen is giving all 135 of her non-writing staff paychecks and if Ellen doesn't continue to tape her show she violates her contract!

Today Ellen had a conference call with reporters to promote her upcoming TBS variety show but alot of the questions were about the strike not her variety show. Here's a good article about what she said in the conference call. Click here for the article

Here's Portia's scenes from Nip/Tuck last night.

Other shows were not immediately affected, including the talk show "Ellen," which will continue production. Host Ellen DeGeneres told her studio audience at Tuesday's taping that she was obligated under her contract to continue the show, although she supported the striking writers.

"I want to say I love my writers," DeGeneres said. "In honor of them today, I'm not going to do a monologue. I support them and hope that they get everything they're asking for. And I hope it works out soon."-Yahoo.com Here is a great article about Ellen's show being affected by the strike from Broadcastingcable.com. Click here for the article.

I just thought I would point this out. Ellen's website didn't have her Thought of the day and her lunch segment was very bland and didn't have any jokes cause I think the writers usually write those segments.
