and I have now learned the adoption agency is "Mutts and Moms". And here is a video about the situation from TMZtv.

Also I have started a thread in the forum about this. Do you think "Mutts and Moms" is being overly strict or do you think Ellen clearly broke the contract?
-------------------------------End of update--------------------------------------

TMZ is reporting that Ellen tried to do a good deed but found herself in a bad situation.

This was recently posted on TMZ.com
Talk show queen Ellen DeGeneres is caught in the middle of a doggy tug of war that has left an innocent girl in tears.

Ellen and her girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, adopted Iggy (a Brussels Griffon mix) from Mutts and Moms, a dog adoption agency. But things didn't work out as Ellen planned -- her cats didn't get along with Iggy -- so she gave the pooch to her hairdresser, who has two kids, including 12-year-old Ruby.

Last night, a rep from the agency came to the hairdresser's home, claiming Ellen violated the contract by not informing the agency of the hand-off. The rep demanded to take the dog away. Ellen' s position -- yeah, she should have notified the agency, but she found a loving home and isn't that what counts? The agency rep stuck to her guns and removed the dog with cops present. Ruby is heartbroken; reduced to tears.

Ellen says, "I kept saying, 'If you want to be mad at me, be mad at me, but don't take it out on the family. Don't take it out on the dog.'"

You can watch an interview on TMZtv tonight (click here for a schedule of when it's on)

Here's a picture of Ellen backstage today and Ellen is hugging someone that I think is her hairdresser and Ellen seems to be crying.                                 Click the picture to make it bigger.

The question in the "Monthly Poll" is "Do you think Ruby should get the dog back?"

In other news... as Ellen said on todays show NBC is moving their Burbank studio (where Ellen films) to another location. Click here for an article about NBC moving.

Re: Ellen's "Doggone Nightmare"

Ellen, the way people get their freakesh jacks, by tring to hurt someone with a great following, it is not good to give small people, an advatage over your life. You let your guard down when you adopted this pup, please have your lawyer check the documents before you sign, save your heart you have a big one. If this would of been any joe off the street they would of never of checked on him. The reality the pup is probaly in a good home now as well, so lets be thankful for that. Sincerly Boone
